Bridesmaids
Phoebe Ingraham, Maid of Honor
While Phoebe is also a ‘99 graduate of Smith College, she didn’t really meet Audrey until they had both moved to Seattle and met through an alumna event. Soon after, they both joined the board of the local Smith board and fast became friends, sharing a love of dance together (subscribed to the ballet together and went salsa dancing weekly). She has been an invaluable friend for Audrey in Seattle for the last 8 years, listening and being there throughout.
Anna Carey
Anna and Audrey first met by being matched up as roommates in their first year at Smith College. They soon realized how much they had in common through their love of cows, a cappella music, matching outfits, and day-old lemon meringue pie at the local Stop-N-Shop. They continued to be roommates in their second year, studied abroad on the same program in Madrid, Spain and completed college with degrees in psychology and the same academic advisor. They split ways after college with Anna returning to New York and Audrey off to Seattle. Today, Anna runs the show for events in Central Park and keeps two cats at home with husband, Frank.
Sara Holmberg
Sara became friends with Audrey after they both enrolled in the Piano Academy at the Midwestern Music Camp in the summer of 1992. They hit it off right away and became close. Even while they weren’t in the same grade, when Audrey would return home from college, they would immediately get together to catch up at the Bourgeois Pig in Lawrence. Sara continued on with her love and talent of music and earned two degrees in violin performance (she’s amazing!). Recently, she has decided to return to another love of hers, medicine, and is currently studying to go to Medical School in 2008.
Jigna Patel
Jigna and Audrey met first as co-workers at Amazon.com when Jigna was working on the Books team, close to where Audrey was working on the Music team. Soon, they were frequently grabbing lunch or coffee together and doing fun things like snowboarding together or going to Paris for New Year’s. In addition to her love of snowboarding, Jigna also likes yoga, making jewelry, and traveling. Lately, she’s been settling into a new home with husband, Matt, and is about to embark on an exciting new job at a local startup.
Sri Remala
We like to joke that Sri met Audrey “at a random Indian party at the Baltic Room”–but it’s true! Despite the random way they met, they soon got to know each other better through a few snowboarding trips and girl trips to the spa. They also share a love of travel and have vacationed in Spain and Mexico together. Today, Sri works as an Accenture consultant on-site at Microsoft and works out weekly with Audrey at the gym. This summer, she’ll be taking on a big challenge: climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro!
Asayo Urisu
Audrey and Asayo actually first met when Audrey interviewed Asayo for a job at Amazon.com–ha! Asayo impressed everyone and soon after began working at Amazon, grabbing coffee with Audrey and Jigna on a frequent basis. She also shares a love of snowboarding and dancing (having taken salsa dancing and bellydancing too) as well as traveling — she is traveling all around the world with her husband, Matt, this year, going to exciting places like Thailand, Cambodia, Japan, Hong Kong, Greece, Italy and France.
Groomsmen
Brad Zinser, Best Man
Brad and I have been friends for almost 20 years! We met Brad during my first year at Portsmouth Abbey and have been best friends during our college years and beyond. He is a graduate of the Univ. of Pennsylvania where he sharpened his business acumen studying Entrepreneurial Management at the Wharton School of Business. After graduation Brad worked for Amazon.com, where his love of popular music and product management skills made him a valuable member of the music team. Sensing a need to expand his personal and professional paths, Brad traveled to England to live and work at a Buddhist monastery and was an important member in their publishing and marketing groups. He has recently returned from his England adventures and now resides in Los Angeles where the beautiful weather suits his love of running and easy-going demeanor.
Tom Frank
Tom and I first met while working for the Internet startup Digital Island where we both worked as project managers. An avid rugby player, Tom has become known to many as ‘Fight Club’ for his propensity of showing up at work despite facial abrasions and/or hamstring injuries suffered while playing matches on the weekend. But don’t let that nickname fool you: Tom is a well-read graduate of Occidental College, an excellent cook and all-around master of the BBQ grill and is currently using his skill in carpentry doing contract work in San Francisco. I could pour accolades his direction ad-infinum, however any rumors of his golf supremacy are greatly exaggerated.
Derrick Hachey
Derrick and I met while we were both living in Burlington, Vermont in the early to mid 90’s… After I moved to Seattle in 1996, Derrick followed suit and relocated in Seattle. He is a founding member and co-editor of the popular literary magazine Litrag and enjoys both contributing to and benefiting from the vibrant music/arts scene of Seattle. These days Derrick’s job in business development for the Internet startup Manufactured Home Source has him traveling about 10 days a month but the hectic lifestyle has definitely paid off and he’s enjoying a great deal of success. In addition to being the only Red Sox fan amongst my groomsmen (an unfortunate situation at best), D-Rock’s sense of humor and unyielding friendship have been an important part of my life.
Aaron Tang
Aaron is Audrey’s only and younger brother. After growing up in Kansas together, he went off to study industrial design at RISD and has since done all sorts of creative things, from designing a bag for Timbuktu, attending design conferences and even appearing on television to show off his ideas. He currently lives in Boston and is always working on something cool. Check out his blog!
Rick Winfield
Rick and I first met through Brad and became friends during my time here in
Pete Winfield
Pete is Rick’s younger brother and I met him once he moved to Seattle in 2002 to work for Caution Media. A graduate of the University of Vermont with a major in philosophy, he is one of these rare people who can speak eloquently about Postmodernism, NASCAR racing, all things hockey as well as politics. Petey-Li is a neighbor of ours in Capitol Hill and we spend a great deal of time together getting dinner, drinks, movies or the occasional snowboarding trip to Montana and Canada. For reasons that belie both his intellectual nature and his great friendship, Pete is a Yankees fan (as is his brother and sister) and yet somehow he remains one of my closest friends. Please be sure to introduce yourself to him and ask for his opinion on the outcome of the 2004 ALCS…..
