Maruuruu from Bora Bora!

July 12, 2007 10:19 pm

Greetings from the middle of nowhere!  Yup, we found a working internet-hooked up computer here at our hotel.  We arrived early yesterday morning and it has been absolutely glorious since arriving.  The water here is sooo blue it looks surreal.  Earlier today, we indulged in a wonderful spa treatment at the Manea Spa at the hotel and wandered around town a bit.  In a few moments, we’re going to jump on the boat shuttle to go onto the main island to watch the dance finale for the Polynesian Heritage Festival here—should be fun!  It is absolute paradise here and we are incredibly happy and in bliss.  In any case, just wanted to drop a note to say hello!

We’re married!!!!!

July 10, 2007 12:25 pm

We did it!  We’re married!  Man, the last few days have been such a whirlwind.  It really does fly by and time seems to pass so fast.  So many of our wonderful friends and family were there and I wish I had more time to talk to everyone!  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for attending!  It meant the world to us to see everyone present.  All wedding-related activities were so much fun: the 4th of July BBQ, the rehearsal dinner, the actual wedding and the day-after brunch.  We were also incredibly fortunate to get such fabulous summer weather here!  It’s actually unusually hot—today it’s hitting the mid-90’s in Seattle and like over 100 tomorrow…..which is HIGHLY unusual for Seattle!  In either case, we were so happy to get such wonderful weather.  I’m writing now with 4 hours left before leaving for airport to being our trip to TAHITI!  I’m still packing and needing to prep the downstairs to get our floors re-done while we are away.  Meanwhile, I’ll leave y’all with photos from some folks that have uploaded pictures online already.  Enjoy!  See y’all when we get back!

80 degrees and sunny….

July 3, 2007 8:21 am

I’m excited to see the weather really holding out this week!  The forecast predicts sunny weather in the upper 70’s by this weekend with the next few days and the few days after the wedding being equally wonderful.  Woo Hoo!

For those of you out of towners visiting, I forgot to mention that I created a whole section on this website for Visiting Seattle.  Here, I’ve compiled some information on getting here as well as places to see.  Hope you find it useful!

181 plus a half and a half

181, including us, is the final guest count…and 2 babies.

Seating chart and table arrangements done.

5 more days!

July 2, 2007 11:40 pm

I’m sleepy.  It’s been a whirlwind of wedding related projects one after another for the last few days.  Matt’s parents arrived last week to check out some of the Red Sox games—we’ve been hosting them and it’s been wonderful to have them around!  We got soooo much done in the last few days, it’s incredible.  Check:
- programs
- table cards
- placecards
- favors
- OOT bags and personalized water bottles
- cocktail menus
- picked up our engraved wedding bands

For the most part, all the crafty stuff is done now.  All that’s remaining is primarily sitting in front of the computer:
- queue up music for when the band takes a break
- scan all our childhood photos and create a slideshow.  Load onto computer.

My parents and brother arrive tomorrow.  Last day of work–do a spec review.

Wednesday — host BBQ for friends and out of town friends that are in town.  Watch fireworks on rooftop.

Thursday — golf game.  Pick up grandmother from airport.  Take dance lessons with dad.  More airport pickups.

Friday - mani/pedi with girls followed by lunch and rehearsal.  Check into hotel.  Pick up dress.  Rehearsal dinner.

I had a minor wedding meltdown today.  The Grand Hyatt, which is where I’m getting ready and where the wedding night suite will be, emailed me this morning telling me that due to an issue with their reservation system, they had to cancel my reservation and move to a hotel in South Lake Union.  I about flipped out in my office at work.  Called up Matt who marched over there during lunch time and spoke to the sales manager.  Within an hour after meeting them, they sent me an email telling me that I can keep my suite and that they’re incredibly sorry.  Whew.
